Jeff grew up in a Christian home in central Washington. He came to know Jesus as a young man and finally got serious about him as a senior in high school. He attended Western Baptist College, now Corbin University, for his undergrad where he met his incredible wife, Cari. They were married in 1995. During college, God called Jeff into ministry; he and Cari have served together in ministry since 1992. They have served in Salem, Oregon, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Portland, Oregon. Jeff earned his graduate degree at Western Seminary in 2010, returning in 2017 to pursue his doctorate with a hopeful graduation date in 2022. Jeff came on board here at CBC in August 2020 as senior pastor.

Jeff is passionate about preaching and teaching the Bible. He has a strong desire to help people understand the Gospel: Who Jesus is, What He did for us, and What it means to be His followers. He loves quality coffee, woodworking and building rough cut furniture. He loves God’s Word, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, sports (especially soccer), his wife, and his family, although not all in that order! 

In 2004, Jeff and Cari started an amazing family through the gift of adoption. They have 3 wonderful children: Allison, Hana and Josiah. The Welch family loves all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer and have enjoyed many vacations to Central Oregon to soak in the sunshine, float the river, and hike in the woods.  

Lyman Flenner comes to us with an extensive education and 30 plus years of ministry experience. He is originally from Portland OR and attended OSU, Linfield College and Marylhurst University studying Sacred Music and Composition. He served as Minister of Music and Christian Education at Grace Baptist Church in Portland, where he hired and eventually married his accompanist, now wife, Jan. Together they have served in Music Ministries in Illinois and back in Portland where he was encouraged to attend Western Seminary. While in Seminary, Lyman was called as pastor at Crescent Baptist Church here in Central Oregon; Jan served alongside him throughout his ministry in both music and Christian education, and as church secretary at Crescent Baptist. He served for 10 years before being called to full-time missionary chaplaincy to first responders. He was ordained by CBNW in 2014, and currently serves as Chaplain locally through Central Oregon Public Safety Chaplains (COPC) as well as our Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship, here at CBC. Lyman and Jan have 3 children and have 3 grandchildren.

Peggy joined our CBC staff in March 2017. She and her husband Larry have been members at CBC for several years. Peggy comes with years of financial and accounting experience. She loves to sing, and knit in her spare time.

Amy joined CBC's staff in November of 2022. She has a background in music, early education, and libraries. She participates in CBC's praise team and choir. Amy's hobbies include reading, and various musical instruments.
